Task 8
More female people answered my questionnaire so therefore my answers won’t be completely fair.
I asked more people in the ages between 16 to 18, which is good as this is more of the target audience that I am going for.
I asked people what their favourite genre is, four different genres came up the most. The most popular genre was pop.
I asked people what their favourite band is so that I had an idea of what names to put on my front cover or contents page. A few people came up. The most popular is girls aloud and the least popular is JLS.
I asked people what their favourite singer is so that I had an idea of what names to put on my magazine front cover and contents page, my results show that Beyonce’s name came up the most and that Jamie.T and Lil Wayne name only came up once.
I asked people what came into their head when said pop music, I asked this to get an idea of what name I could call my magazine. Dancing came up the most and also popcorn and charts came up a few times.
I asked people how often you buy a magazine so that I can get an idea of how often I should issue my magazine. A lot of people who buy music magazines buy them monthly.
I asked people on how often they read a magazine as some people may read their mates, however my results came out the same as the results as how often do you buy a magazine.
I asked this question so that I got an idea of what subheading I should have on my front cover. Gigs came up the most closely followed by charts and gossip.
I also asked what you dislike about music magazines, I asked this question so that I have an idea of what not to put in my music magazine, big long stories came up the most the advertisement, so I now know what I should not include too much advertisement and big long stories in my magazine.
I asked this question as it is quite an important question as it lets me have an idea of what colours I should use on my magazine to catch my target audience’s eye. Purple and blue and pink came up the most as you can see.
I asked people how much they spend as I must include the price on my magazines and this gives me an idea of what I should make my price, the most popular price is £3- £4 which will probably be the price range for my magazine.
The reason I asked if you prefer a singer or a band on the front cover, is so what I have an idea of what my image should be for the front cover. As you can see from my results that a singer what more popular than a band.
The reason I asked what do you look at first on the front cover is so that I have an idea of what the reader looks at first so that I can make my magazine more eye catching to the reader. The results that I got were images were the first thing people tend to look at.
The reason I asked if you access magazines through the Internet was so that I have an idea to put a website on my magazine or not, as my results show though not many people read magazines over the Internet.
