Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the process of constructing your project?
From my preliminary task I can now use different programmes such as Photoshop and Quark Express. My skills have also improved with both these programmes which allow me to do more.
Another process I learnt from the preliminary task was getting an idea of a layout and done different experiments. This was so I could see what looked better and where certain things should go.
I also learnt more to do with codes and conventions and learnt and used the main sort of codes and conventions. You must follow code and conventions to make your magazine look like other magazine so that the buyer is more likely to see your magazine and buy it.
My preliminary task was also the first time that I have used Quark Express so I learn a few techniques and got an idea of how Quark Express works. I also learnt new tools on Photoshop and how to use them. This was handy as it made my main task easier and quicker to make.
You can see that Oakwood was the first one I made as it’s slightly got less on. Colour wise they are similar as both magazines a aimed more towards girls. So I thought purple would be a nice girly colour. They both have the banner at the bottom of them. When looking at codes and conventions many magazines I had looked at had this. The reason I put free at the bottom on the banner was because it attract he buyers attention. I have out the bar code on the opposite side. The reason for this was I felt it looked better in the other corner. I used Photoshop for both.
As you can see the layout has developed slightly. The colours are still purple. As I feel purple came up a lot in my questionnaire. I have put the pictures in with there numbers on both. However one thing I changed was the numbers of pictures try and fill every gap possible, also have put a pictures of the front cover, then put this over the on the cover subheading. I have also put the pictures along the one side. I thought this looked neater than my preliminary.
